Montauk was recorded entirely in Dartington Hall and Manchester with the cellos recorded afterwards at the studio. Sonically, we wanted to preserve the sound of the rooms we were in but also not fall into the usual overly roomy recordings you often hear in classical recordings or the clinical modern jazz version.
