This project originally came from an idea with Giuliano Modarelli for a project playing music from numerous political struggles around the world. It evolved into Kefaya and Giuliano and Al MacSween began recording ideas in different places collaborating with numerous musicians and singers along the way. All the music was then brought to the studio where I mixed and produced it. The aim was to not have it sound or come across in the way “world music” is often portrayed. So the idea for the radio scits came from conversations with Gules and Al about how they could tell the stories of the album and their context.
