This was recorded and produced entirely at the Kabin, the first studio I had with longtime collaborator and friend Mark Creswell.  Despite being an improvised album, we recorded it in layers, drums first then guitar and bass. Finally, Matt added his synth and Rhodes over that.  To keep the spirit of improv, all the parts were just one take each. The process, mix and production techniques we used weren’t around in jazz at that time, (enough boasting!!).
