II’ve loved Lotek’s work for a long time! 

 

This album is part of the fruition of a lot of work coming together.  Many contemporary artists are sampling classic 70s Jamaican music, so to push the envelope further we decided to make our own samples from music made at the studio now. I started the band The Disruptors to achieve this aim, creating music in the model of a 70s Jamaican studios, where musicians and producers wrote music for singers/writers to fit their songs over. These completed arrangements are what Lotek has sampled to create the tracks on his album.
